A self taught African American artist. Influenced by such artist as Edward Hopper,Winslow Homer, Fredrick Remington, Hughie Lee Smith and more recently by Austrian artist Voka. Many of my works reflect the culture and background of growing up in the urban Midwest.
Working in acrylics and oils, focusing on people, places and things that have left a lasting impression upon my life, or has influenced my life in some way.
More recently painting in a style categorized as spontaneous impressionism, perhaps a fitting description would be spontaneous realism. While painting in style similar to that of Voka, unlike Voka, I rarely any outlines or drawings with my paintings, the shapes and forms are created as I go.
